Since forming in 2007, Los Angeles indie-pop band Saint Motel have been known for their raucous live shows (they’ve thrown several Valentine’s zombie proms) and a sound that favored anthemic bursts of rhythm. Pioneer of the musical artform known as go-go music, Chuck Brown passed on at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore today according to The Washington Post. The DC native was hospitalized due to pnuemonia contracted after an operation to remove a blood clot, and reportedly was been under hospital care since.

Yesterday, LA noise rock duo HEALTH released “Tears”, off their soundtrack to the upcoming Max Payne 3 video game. Though an intriguing collaboration, the pair’s work with the third-person shooting extravaganza isn’t the first fusion of video games and popular music. NYC rockers The Dig have released the second single off their sophomore LP, Midnight Flowers, due out May 29th via Buffalo Jump Records. “I Already Forgot Everything You Said” begins simply enough with a gentle stream of dreamy guitars, haunting harmonies, and sparse, hypnotic drumming. The track maintains its composure for most of its five-minute existence, with the exception of an emotional refrain of wailing guitars towards the end. Stream and/or download it below.
